Matilda Hosts Furbulous Feline Fashions At The Legendary Algonquin

Matilda the Directfurr of Guest Relations at the legendary Algonquin Hotel in New York City held her annual charity event this past weekend and guests from both around the country and around the world flew in to meet and mingle with other feline lovers.
This year’s event, in aid of The Mayor’s Alliance saluted Broadway. Once again her favorite catourier Ada Nieves was back and Matilda’s favorite mew del furriends modeled fashions created by Nieves and inspired by current Broadway musicals.
And for the first time ever, Matilda invited special felines guests. Vito Vincent an orange tabby who has in fact stalked the Broadway stage many times in his theatrical career was center stage to greet guests and Tara the Hero cat from Bakersfield, California was specially flown in by pet-friendly airline Jet Blue and was the feline guest of honor. While in town Tara toured Manhattan and even made it up the Empire State Building. And she was certainly a big attraction at the event.
Cat Fancy magazine honored Matilda and Tara with the creation of a huge cake in their likenesses ( see below). Guests mingled nibbling on cheese and sipping Matilda’s signature cocktail, martinis and Manhattans.

This year’s event was once again co-sponsored by Sergeants Pet Care who sent everyone home with Calming Sprays with pheromones that help ease feline anxiety along with treats to assist in the reduction of hairballs.
