The Surf’s Up!

Dogs Love the sand and the sea and this year about fifty dogs are expected to participate in the Surf Dog  competition, which will be held on July 13, 2014 in Imperial Beach, CA, adjacent to the pier. Always a crowd favorite, thousands of spectators from across the U.S. will join in on the fun.

The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will include a dog park, treats for both dogs and humans and a dog wash station.  Animal care experts will also be on hand to ensure all participants are kept safe.

This is the first year Unleashed by Petco will take the reigns from Loews, who hosted the event for the past eight years. The competition will look similar to the great event that has been a staple in San Diego for years, but Unleashed by Petco is hoping to really take things to the next level while carrying on the Surf Dog tradition with the same sentiment and pride.

The event will benefit the San Diego Humane Society.
